The Communication and Learning Resources Division strives to offer excellence in its academic programs and student services. Our mission is twofold:
1) To assist a wide range of students develop skills in reading, composition, creative writing, literature, critical thinking (English), language acquisition (ESL/BESL), Foreign Language, Speech, and Journalism. In these courses, students gain valuable skills, many of which help to provide a greater chance of success in other disciplines, in the workplace, in society, or at a university.
2) To help our students succeed by striving to offer excellence in critical student service areas, including the Library, Learning Resources computer lab ("the Beach"), Tutoring, and Supplemental Instruction.
The division's goal is to assist virtually every student who enters Ventura College achieve success through our instruction and our support services.
