Student Learning Outcomes or SLOs  describe the knowledge and/or skills a student should have when they complete a course.  There are three levels of Student Learning Outcomes.

  • ISLOs (Institutional SLOs)  are shared across campus with VC ISLO rubrics to be used to assess them.  These are the outcomes every student who leaves VC with a degree, certificate, or vocational training should be able to do or know.
  • PSLOs (Program Level SLOs)  are what a student who earn a certificate or degree should be able to do or know.
  • CSLOs (Course level SLOs)  are what a student completing a course should be able do or know.
