The Ventura College art galleries, Gallery 2 and the New Media Gallery, were created in the 1970's to showcase faculty and student works, as well as artwork by prestigious artists from throughout the country. Such talents include Carlos Almaraz, Don Bachardy, Billy Al Bengtron, Gary Brown, Robert Frame, Louise Nevelson, Julian Schnabel and more. The Ventura College Art Department is proud to have an art collection that includes works by Goya, Dali and Chagall.

The Art of Asia

The art of Asia is diverse and covers a wide range of social, political, historical, and religious ideologies. Asia includes the large peninsulas of Asia Minor, India, Arabia, and Indochina and the island clusters of Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Ceylon (Sri Lanka). The purpose of this exhibition is to explore Asian art and culture as a means of seeing this region of the world in our era of globalization. Curated by A.H. Bittl

The Photography of Amy Oliver

Originally from a sleepy town on the coast of North Carolina, Amy Oliver is a Ventura based photographer who has sought to capture the wonder and mystery of the city she now calls home. Oliver works with digital and traditional photographic materials using 4x5, medium format, 35mm, and digital SLR cameras in her work.

Ventura College Art Galleries

The art galleries opened in the 1970s to exhibit the work of faculty, students, and artists from throughout the country. The galleries display a wide range of contemporary and traditional art in a variety of media and are open to the public. Admission is free.

Gallery Hours

Art Gallery hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 4:00pm. For more information please call (805) 648-8974. Both galleries will be closed on Sept 3rd, Nov. 12th, 22nd & 23rd, Jan. 21st, Feb. 12th & 18th, March 11th-15th for holidays.

Campus Parking

Parking on Campus requires a parking permit, which may be purchased from two automated yellow boxes  in the West parking lot, and one automated yellow box in the North parking lot. The cost for parking is two dollars ($2).
