Standard One: Institutional Mission
The institution has a statement of mission that defines the institution, its educational purposes, its students, and its place in the higher education community.
Assessment of Progress Made
The 1996 Self-Study Report raised concerns about the need to reevaluate the College's Statement of Mission and Goals, and to publicize outcomes.
Discussion Summary:
The College’s mission was revisited in Spring of 1996 and adopted
for publication in all official College publications. The Accreditation
Mid-Term Report for Ventura College reflected the fact that not only
was the Institutional Mission Statement revised but also it served as
the basis from which the College’s Goals were generated.
The College continues to evaluate its Institutional Mission Statement
as part of its three-year strategic planning cycle.
