Educational Assistance Center (EAC)

Program Purpose: The EAC provides eligible students with disabilities the required services and accommodations to ensure their academic success. EAC students increase their knowledge of available accommodations and services available to them, leading to an increase in confidence, self advocacy and academic success.

Program Description:  The Educational Assistance Center (EAC) promotes the educational and vocational potential of students with disabilities by supporting each student's integration into the mainstream of college life. Students with learning disabilities, mobility, visual, hearing, speech, or psychological impairments, acquired brain injuries, or other health impairments, such as seizure disorders or attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, are eligible for support services and special classes that are needed to fully participate in the educational process.

SERVICE UNIT OUTCOMES:

1. Students will know which accommodations provided by EAC are appropriate to their disability.
2. Students will be able to request appropriate accommodations of the EAC staff and classroom professors.
3. Students will demonstrate self-advocacy skills with instructors and staff.
