Gema Espinoza, Ventura College Counseling Assistant

As the first member of her own family to attend college, Gema Espinoza now helps students succeed in college.  Born in Michoacán, Mexico, Gema attended local schools in Oxnard and graduated from Hueneme High School.  She attended Oxnard College while in high school to become university bound.  Gema then attended California Lutheran University and graduated as a Liberal Studies major with an emphasis in English and a minor in Spanish.  She continued her education at University of La Verne for her Master of Science in Educational Counseling.

Gema’s hobbies include running, hiking, reading, volunteering at church and around the community, and discovering new amazing eateries in Ventura County.
