Jennifer Otani-Brickey

Women's Volleyball Assistant Coach
This is Jennifer’s second year as an assistant coach with the Pirates, but not her first time around Ventura College volleyball. She was a part of the VC team that placed fourth at the state tournament in 2000, and also played in 2001. She holds the ace record at VC with 67 aces. Jennifer is a local product as well, having graduated from Oxnard High School in 2000, where she played four years of varsity volleyball.
After Ventura College, Jennifer went on to the University of California, Los Angeles, where she earned a scholarship as the Women’s Volleyball Team Manager. For two seasons, she worked closely with legendary coach Andy Banachowski, whose 2003 team made it to the NCAA Elite 8 in Nebraska. Jennifer graduated from UCLA in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. She regularly works Bruin Summer Volleyball camps in Westwood.
Currently , Jennifer is in her sixth year as an English teacher at Oxnard High School, where she coached four years, the last as Varsity Head Coach for the 2007 Pacific View League Champions. She earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Pepperdine University in 2005. Jennifer is married to Marcell and is currently working on a Masters in Humanities from CSU Dominguez Hills
