WSC Statistics Report

 Western State Conference Weekly Update                                                                        

 The Pirates begin the year at the Larry Carr Invitational Tournamet in Bakersfield. The first day of the two day tournament was held at Seven Oaks Country Club. Paul Misko was low for the day with a score of 73, Other scores were Dan Dress - 75, Ryan Turner - 75, Chad Gillespie - 76, Jordan Cuthbert - 76, Nick Sarian - 78 for a 375 total on the first day. The second day of the tournament was held at Rio Bravo Country Club. Jordan Cuthbert was low with a 74 followed by Ryan Turner - 75, Paul Misko - 76, Chad Gillespie - 78, Dan Dress - 80, Nick Sarian - 83 for a second day total of 383. The two day total of 758 was good enough for a second place finish behind College of the Canyons.

Pnoomonia Invitational -  Spring Valley Lake Country Club - February 8, 2010

Ventura College finishes first in this two man best ball tournament with a great sixteen under score of 200 followed by Santiago Canyon - 201, Glendale College - 206, College of the Desert - 206. Fourteen teams participated in this tournament. Paul Misko and Dan Marvosh finished tied for medalist with a nice 64 but finished second when they lost to Glendale College's number one team on the first hole of a sudden death playoff. Chad Gillespie/Dasey Lum - 67, Jordan Cuithbert/Ryan Turner - 69 were the others who contributed to this victory.

Glendale Invitational - Alhambra Golf Course - February 10, 2010

Pirates take first with a great score of 338. Paul Misko was medalist with a phenomenol  eight under 62. Casey Lum - 66, Chad Gillespie - 68, Ryan Turner - 71, Dan Marvosh - 71 and Andy Bennett - 73. Glendale College finished 2nd - 342 followed by College of the Desert - 343.

Rio Hondo Invitational - California Country Club - February 12, 2010

Ryan Turner earns individual medalist honors with great roiund of 69. Pirates finish 3rd with a 11 over 371. Orange Coast College finishes first with a 366 followed by Canyons with a 368. Fourteen teams participated. Jordan Cuthbert - 72, Paul Misko - 74, Chad Gillespie - 76, Andy Bennett - 80, Casey Lum - 82.

Monarch Dunes - Three Team Match - February 17, 2010

SBCC won the match with a five over par 370. Ventura College was second with a score of 374 followed by Fresno City with a 401. Chad Gillespie led the Pirates with an even par 71 followed by Dan Dress - 74, Paul Misko - 75, Jordan Cuthbert - 77, and Casey Lum - 77.

Ventura College is ranked second in initial Southern California Golf Poll for 2010.

Ventura College finishes second in first conference match of the year. Paul Misko was low for VC, followed by Jordaqn Cuthbert - 76, Casey Lum - 76, Dan Dress - 78, Ryan Turner - 80, and Chad Gillespie - 82

Ventura College Moves Into First Place In The Western States Conference By Winning At Rio Bravo Country Club - March 8, 2010

Paul Misko leads VC to a first place finish by firing a medalist tying 73. He was followed by the very steady play in very tough conditions of Jordan Cuthbert - 74, Casey Lum - 76, Dan Dress - 78 and Chad Gillespie - 78. Congratulations on a very hard earned victory.

Ventura College finishes second at Valencia Country Club - March 15, 2010

Despite Ryan Turner's Medalist round of 71, which was the only score under par ouit of 102 players, Ventura struggled to a second place finish in conference with a score of 397. There were 17 teams competing in Canyons Invitational tournament. VC finished third in the Invitatioanla. Ventura is now tied for first in conference with COC. Paul Misko fired a 75, Chad Gillespie - 83, Casey Lum and Dan Dress - 84, Jordan Cuthbert - 89. Considering the wind and tough playing conditions VC played tough.

Ventura College wins North-South Cup at Hunter Ranch Golf Course. March 21 - 22, 2010

The Pirates recovered from a poor first day to win the match. Trailing College of the Desert by 6, Santa Barbara City by 5 and Hancock by 1 VC fires a 372 on the second day to win the match by 8 over Santa Barbara. Two day totals were VC - 379/372-751, SBCC - 374/385-759, COD - 373/387-760.  Paul Misko was the medalist forthe match firing a great 72/70-142. He was followed Ryan Turner 73/74-147Jordan Cuthbert 76/763-152, Chad Gillespie 76/76-152, Casey Lum 82/76-158 and Nick Sarian 85/79-164.

Western States Conference Neutral Siter Match - Southern Cal Golf Assoc. Course - March 29, 2010

The Piirates struggle and finish fourth. Ryan Turner had a low score of 73 followed by Paul Misko - 74, Chad Gillespie - 74, Daniel Dress - 76, Casey Lum - 78 and Nick Sarian - 82

Western States Conference Match - Saticoy Country Club - April 5, 2010

On a very cold and windy day with scores being very high VC struggles to a third place finish on it's home couirse. Paul Misko battled tough conditions and still shot a respectable 76. Daniel Dress - 80, Jordan Cuthbert - 82, Ryan Turner - 83, Andy Bennett - 86 and Casey Lum - 90.
